KELOWNA, B.C. Both keepers were up to the task, and both backlines did not falter on Saturday, after 90 minutes of action, the women's soccer game ended as a scoreless draw between the visiting Thompson Rivers WolfPack and the home UBC Okanagan Heat on Nonis Field.
Emma Terrillon played the full match, made five saves for her first career clean sheet for UBCO while Danielle Robertson earned the shutout, her second in a row and on the season, and fourth of her career for TRU.
With the draw the Heat stay just a single point ahead of the 'Pack for the sixth and final playoff spot in the Pacific Division of Canada West. UBC Okanagan are (2-6-2) while the tie was TRU's first of the season and are now (2-7-1).
First Half:
Thompson Rivers had the first solid pair of chances in the match, in the 15th minute a long pass caught a streaking Shae Fuoco down the right side whose strike went high and wide. Just five minutes later Marlie Rittinger attempted a strike not far from penalty spot, but the ball went over the net.
The Heat's third year midfielder, Madelyn Ellis, had the best chance for UBCO, she received a great pass in the 32nd minute that she was able to gather in the penalty area, but her strike slid by the net wide.
Second half:
The Heat were definitely more aggressive in the second half attempting five shots on goal in the frame, but the Wolfpack's goalie Danielle Robertson saved all of the attempts on target.
Her toughest save on the day, and the best look UBCO had, was in the 50th minute when a back pass to Jillian Hunt saw the second year midfielder step into a crack a shot from 25 yards out that Robertson just got a finger on it and pushed it over the cross bar.
Shae Fuoco subbed out in the first half, returned to the match in the second and had two solid looks in the second half. In the 59th minute, she shook off Heat defender with a nice ball control and her left –footed strike glanced of the far post.
Three minutes later Fuoco from the same spot, took a shot with her right foot this time, but the ball sailed out of bounds.

Both of these teams have just four matches left on the schedule and host their final home games next weekend.
The Heat play on their home turf against the Manitoba Bisons on Saturday (Oct. 13) with a 1 p.m. start time. The Winnipeg Wesmen face the 'Pack on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hillside Stadium.
On Sunday the Heat host Winnipeg and Manitoba goes to Winnipeg, both of those matches, the final home games for either team, will kick-off at 1 p.m.
