CASCADES GET BY THE COUGARS IN CALGARY

Calgary, AB – The UFV Cascades got back on track after their loss to MacEwan yesterday defeating the Mount Royal Cougars 4-1 at Cougars Stadium Field. Goals by Dhaliwal, Beck, Zacharuk and Kump led UFV to victory. Navroop Virk scored Mount Royal's lone goal.

The Cougars fell for the second time this weekend on home field after losing to the Trinity Western Spartans on Saturday afternoon.

Gurneet Dhaliwal opened the scoring in the 19th minute off a feed from Monika Levarsky to give the Cascades an early 1-0 lead.

It remained 1-0 until the second half when Dhaliwal was at it again, this time setting up Shelby Beck in the 47th minute.

The Cascades added two more goals in a seven minute span making it 4-0.

Mount Royal's Navroop Virk broke up Kayla Klim's shutout bid in the 64th minute but that was as close as the Cougars would come.

Mount Royal drops their record to 1-6-1 on the season. UFV improves to 6-1-1 and move into a tie for second place in the West Division.

Mount Royal will play a home and home series with MacEwan beginning on Saturday afternoon in Edmonton.
