HENDRICKS POSTS SECOND STRAIGHT SHUTOUT; JOHNSON NETS TWO

For the second straight night, University of Saskatchewan netminder Cassidy Hendricks posted a shutout to lift the Huskies 2-0 over the visiting University of Lethbridge Pronghorns Saturday night in Saskatoon's Rutherford Rink.

Hendricks made all 17 saves in the win including six shots and two 2-on-1 rushes in the third period. A night earlier, she made all 17 saves in a 3-0 win. It is his her third shutout of the season and ninth in her three-year career.

With the win, the No. 10 ranked Huskies improve to 9-3-2, while Lethbridge drops to 3-11-0.

Rachel Johnson netted both goals in the win. 

A rebound from a Julia Flinton shot from the point, landed on Johnson's stick. She quickly shot the puck beating Lethbridge goaltender Crystal Patterson at 17:56 in the first period to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead.

Lethbridge had a chance to tie the game at the end of the second period with a quick shot from a Pronghorn streaking down the right side. The shot with 20 seconds left hit the post.

The Huskies expanded their lead to 2-0 after Johnson's shot deflected off Patterson's blocker and into the net.

Patterson finished the game making 25 saves for the Pronghorns.

The Huskies remain at home to host the Mount Royal Cougars to close out the first half of the season, while Lethbridge returns home to host the Regina Cougars.
