EDMONTON - Sophomore forward Tori Head scored a pair of goals to lead the Regina Cougars to a 2-1 upset win over the Alberta Pandas in game three of their semifinal series at Clare Drake Arena.

With the victory, Regina wins the series two games to one and advances to the Canada West championship, which will be hosted by the University of Saskatchewan Huskies next weekend in Saskatoon. The Pandas, meanwhile, see their season come to an end. They had won eight straight games, including a pair against Regina, to close out the regular season in first place in Canada West standings, but following their “bye” week, the Pandas never seemed to find their game against the Cougars.

The Pandas' Michala Jeffries took the loss in goal, while Regina goalie Jennifer Schmidt earned the victory.

Regina plays a best-of-three final at Saskatchewan next weekend.
