CALGARY - Two nights in a row, the Dinos sent the Bisons running at the Jack Simpson Gym and they improve to a 2-0 start to the season. Tonight, the Dinos blew out the competition 66-38 and dominated in every statistical category.

The Dinos hit the hardwood with authority and ready to dominate. From the jump, their ball movement and energy was strong. Both teams struggled in their shooting percentages. The Bisons struggled particularly in three point scoring as they missed all 14 of their threes tonight. The Dinos established an early lead in the first half and would build on it throughout the game.

By the end of the game, the Dinos dominated their competition as they elevated their lead to double digits, scored 24 points off of 30 Bison turnovers, outrebounded their opponents 52-41, and shot 74.2% at the free throw line. Despite their struggles, the Dinos came out on top.

Brianna Ghali's elevated her team's performance tonight with her 9 points, 9 rebounds, and overall confidence on the court. The Dinos shared the ball effectively with multiple players besides Ghali contributing to their offensive numbers including Shannon Hatch, Michal Assaf, and Erin McIntosh.

Head coach Damian Jennings felt that his team was successful in establishing the identity that they have been aiming for. "I thought today's example, particularly the defensive end, was the identity we've been pressing ourselves to try and create," he said. "I thought we did an excellent job of containing the basketball and switching aggressively. Sadly, there are some other details that gave some points to look back on."

With new faces and an international cast spanning Canada, Israel, Switzerland, and Spain, Jennings emphasized the fun individual stories on the team this year. He highlighted guard Hilary Annich's story whose journey includes playing for Mount Royal University, working downtown for three years, and coming to the Dinos with two years of eligibility left. "We're a real mix of fresh out of high school kids as well as a 26 year old and a 24 year old. We've got lots going on...very diverse," he said.
