SASKATOON – With a goal in extra time, the University of Calgary Dinos salvaged a 1-1 tie with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies Sunday afternoon on Field 7 in Saskatoon's PotashCorp Park.

Calgary entered the final match of the Canada West men's soccer season needing to earn a point to help keep hold of a home playoff date. The Dinos close the season at 9-4-4 and will await the outcome of the Mount Royal University Cougars and University of Lethbridge Pronghorns match.

The Huskies finish the season at 6-7-3, one spot shy of the postseason.

Huskie rookie Shedrek Samuel tallied in the 32nd minute after a cross ball from Tyler Redl landed on his foot. The ball slid into the right side of the net.

Calgary's Bryce Connors notched the match in extra time on a scramble in front of the Huskies' net. His leg was able to get on a loose ball and slide by Greg Buckley.

Colton Borle made four saves for Calgary, while Buckley made five at the other end of the pitch for the Huskies.

The Canada West soccer playoffs begin next weekend with divisional cross-over quarter-final matches. The winners move on to the conference's final four tournament.
