QUOTES:

TRU head coach John Antulov

On Playoff Feel: "Intensity right from the beginning. It was a battle until the end. It ended on a beautiful goal and I was happy about that."

On WolfPack outshooting Heat badly: "We had our chances. That is sometimes the way it goes sometimes they go in and sometimes they don't. What I liked is that the guys kept battling and battling.  Finally, their patience pays off."

WolfPack midfielder Justin Donaldson (the game's only goal scorer)

On Kamloops/Kelowna Rivalry: "Ever since I can remember it has been Kelowna vs Kamloops and it has always been a back and forth battle. It is great to be on the winning side of it."

Describing his goal: "Me and Mitch (Popadynetz, 3rd year, forward, Nelson, BC) were contemplating what to do. I said I want this one. I put my head down and went through the ball."

Heat head coach Dante Zanetta:

On the Playoff Atmosphere: " I thought both teams played with good spirit. Both are fighting for the playoff spot. They were the better team tonight. They had more chances. Fully deserved the victory."

On the play of keeper Cuthill: "A couple of shots were right at him. He made a couple of good saves.  Full credit to the saves he made and full credit to TRU for creating the chances."

On what he liked about his squad: "We continued to battle and play. Second half we were better going forward. We are a very young team. To learn to play at this level is a process. We are moving in the right direction."

On His Teams Performance: "It was a big second half for us considering the result yesterday (losing a last minute decision to UBCO in Kelowna, BC). I am very proud the way they came out. I am very proud of the performance by our boys."

The two teams will finish up the home and home series on Saturday (Oct 8) when they do battle at Nonis Field at UBCO in Kelowna.  Kick off will be 3 pm.

Antulov on game two: "It is going to be a battle. We always have a tough time when we go there. They have done very well at home.  They are a well-coached team.  They won't be happy about this so we know coming in that it is going to be a battle."

While Zanetta stated: "Hopefully we can improve our play and we can battle. TRU is a good veteran squad and it is going to be a tough one."

The WolfPack return home to face the Trinity Western University Spartans on Saturday October 15, 2016 in their final home weekend of the Canada West regular season Kick off will be 1 pm at Hillside Stadium.
