SASKATOON – The University of Saskatchewan Huskies extended its win streak to four matches after a 4-2 victory over the visiting University of Winnipeg Wesmen Sunday on Field 7 in Saskatoon's PotashCorp Park,.

The win completed a weekend sweep and moved the Huskies to 5-3-2 on the season. Saskatchewan is undefeated in six straight and have allowed just two goals in the span.

Winnipeg drops to 1-10-1 with the pair of losses.

Saskatchewan's Mitch Bauche opened the scoring in the seventh minute on a ball played in by Gabriel Bautois. His shot from the right side of the field flew into the right side of the net. Tyler Redl added the Huskies' second goal of the match in the 13th minute when Bryce Marinus played in a cross ball to the front of the net.

Winnipeg cut the Huskies' lead in half in the 49th minute with a goal by Krysztof Szulc on a scramble in front of the net. A shot bounced off the Huskie defenders before Szulc got a foot on the ball. But just three minutes later, Shedrek Samuel found the net to give the Huskies a two goal lead again.

Once again Winnipeg pulled the match to one goal in the 75th minute when Kevin Garic deflected a ball played in by Huskie keeper Greg Buckley. Sam Whiting pulled the Huskies ahead by two again with header from a Bauche corner kicker in the 80th minute.

Buckley made four saves for Saskatchewan, while Joshua Partaker made eight for Winnipeg at the other end of the pitch. The Huskies outshot the Wesmen 18-10.

The Huskies travel to meet the Lethbridge Pronghorns next weekend, while Winnipeg takes a week of rest with a bye.
