Giving up groups of late goals has been an issue of late for the MacEwan University Griffins and was the difference again today in a 3-0 loss to the University of Alberta Golden Bears.
Nikko Cuglietta, assisted by Niko Jankovic, opened the scoring at the 17 minute mark. That score would stand until the second half.
Tulu Esan and Shamit Shome scored late for the Golden Bears, registering their goals in the 80th and 85th minute respectively.
The Griffins were unable to finish on a few opportunities, notably a wide open net in the second half when Youssef Mimouni sliced the ball wide of the beaten keeper.
