Three straight goals by the visiting University of Calgary Dinos forced the University of Saskatchewan Huskies to settle for a 3-3 draw Friday in Saskatoon.

The Dinos scored just before the end of the first on a penalty kick and opened the second half with goals in the 49th and 73rd minutes. Saskatchewan had opened up a two-goal lead midway through the first half scoring goals ten minutes apart before relinquishing three straight to the Dinos. A late goal salvaged the draw for the Huskies.

With the draw, Saskatchewan's record moves to 3-2-2 on the season, while Calgary is now 3-1-1.

Saskatchewan notched their first goal of the game in the 21st minute. Avery Michael a high cross into the box that fifth-year Mitch Bauche headed into the back of the Dino net. Just ten minutes later, Tyler Redl won a free kick just outside the box. Redl sent a hard pass in for Michael that deflected off of a defender and past the keeper Colin Hasick as he was moving to defend the pass.

With the Huskies looking to take a 2-0 lead into halftime, Calgary posed one last offensive push. In the rush, a Calgary striker was taken down in the box. Robin Whittaker stepped up to take the ensuing penalty kick, making no mistake in sending the ball to the top corner to cut the deficit to one.

In the second half, the Dinos came out on the attack early in search of the equalizer. After winning a corner kick, Whittaker sent the ball into the box for defender Dom Zator. Zator headed the ball over Huskie keeper Greg Buckley to square the match at two.

Calgary made it three straight goals in the 73rd minute. Mike McKinnon played the ball in from half to Dom Russo. The Dino striker made a quick turn to free himself from a Huskie defender before sending a hard shot to the top corner, giving the Dinos their first lead of the match.

The Huskies pressed in the final fifteen minutes, looking to go on a scoring run of their own. Jacob Powell chipped a ball out of the Saskatchewan end to a streaking Garrett Peters. The Saskatchewan defender headed the ball by a Calgary defender giving him a clear path the net. From just inside the box, with the keeper out to challenge, Peters sent a low shot to the bottom corner.

Saskatchewan hosts Mount Royal University on Sunday at 2:15 p.m. on Field 7 in PotashCorp Park. Calgary will visit the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns on Sunday.
