BRANDON – A clutch three from Tyvon Cooper sealed the Bobcats victory in a rare matinee game at the Brandon University Healthy Living Centre Friday afternoon.

Cooper spotted up with eight seconds left in the fourth quarter and hit the game winning shot, giving Brandon a 77-74 victory over the MacEwan Griffins.

Cooper finished the contest with 22 points in the victory, which keeps the Bobcats hopes of reaching the playoffs very much alive.

Three other Bobcats finished in double-digit figures, led by Earl Thompson Jr's game-high 27 points.  Thompson also had eight boards to go along with four assists.

Chris Stanhope and Pookie Saunders had 12 and 11 points respectively for Brandon.

Four Griffins finished in double-digit scoring as well, being paced by Thadius Galvez and Denzel James who both finished with 17 points.

Ryan Coleman had 14 points off the bench for MacEwan and Keith Gerdes chipped in with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

MacEwan falls to 3-10 in conference play with the loss.

The win gives Brandon two in a row, following a split last weekend. The Bobcats will look to earn their second weekend sweep of the season , and first since the season opener, when the two teams meet again on Saturday evening in Brandon.
