WolfPack Men’s Basketball Suffer Second Straight Loss

Kamloops, BC — The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades used some timely shooting and speed to take down the hometown Thompson Rivers University WolfPack 83-73 in Canada West men’s basketball action.  


UFV remains unbeaten and atop of the Canada West Explorer Division at 5-0.   TRU falls to 3-2.

 

“They were better than us,” said WolfPack head coach Scott Clark.  “They made their shots and they were better than us.”

 

The understaffed Cascades had only seven players hit the floor in comparison to the WolfPack’s 10.  They led by 11 points, 25-14, after the first quarter and were up 45-32 at half time.

 

“We were really happy to get a road win,“ stated UFV head man Adam Friesen. “ Road wins are hard to come by. We got some hot shooting early which gave us a bit of a cushion which we were able to hold onto.”

 

Friesen gave credit to his team who had six players in double figures led by Kevon Parchment (fourth year, guard, Toronto, ON) with 18 points. Kadeen Willis (fifth year, forward, Toronto, ON) and Manjodh Dulay   (third year, guard, Surrey, BC) each had 14 points.  Dominique Brooks(fourth year, guard, Seattle, WA) added 13,  Nate Brown (third year, forward, Fresno, CA) had 12 points and Vijay Dhillon (third year, guard, Richmond, BC) chipped in with 10 points.

 

The only Cascade player not in double figures scoring wise was Jasper Moed (fifth year, forward, Abbotsford,BC) .  He had two points and 13 rebounds.

 

TRU was led by Josh Wolfram (fourth year, forward, Kamloops, BC). He had yet another double double with 22 points and 13 rebounds. He was named the TRU Bookstore/MacDonalds “Leader of the Pack” Player of the Game.

 

Tallon Milne (fifth year, forward, Vanderhoof, BC) had 10 points and 11 rebounds.  Reese Pribilsky (fourth year, guard, Victoria, BC) added 11 points.

 

The two teams will play again Saturday at the Tournament Capital Centre. Tip off is 7 pm.
