#WinTheWeb: Slick goals, basketball skills top highlight reel

Every week we look back at the top moments from the past weekend in our #WinTheWeb feature. Here are some of the top moments from the weekend of January 25-26, 2019.

MHKY: Cable's slick goal helps seal sweep

Fourth-year forward Levi Cable's five-point weekend helped the Saskatchewan Huskies to a sweep of the UBC Thunderbirds on home ice over the weekend. The former Kootenay Ice player's top moment came Saturday night in Saskatchewan's 5-0 win, as Cable used a slick move early in the second period to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead. The goal stood up as the winner, as the Huskies kept their hold on first-place in Canada West heading into the month of February.

WHKY: MacDougall's terrific individual effort

Alberta Panda Autumn MacDougall had another stellar weekend, posting six points in Alberta's home sweep of the Regina Cougars. MacDougall, who now sits tied with teammate Alex Poznikoff in the conference scoring race with 29 points, provided one of the best goals of the season Friday night when she put the Pandas up 3-0 with a backhander top shelf.

MBB: Alley-oop action in Lethbridge

Who doesn't love a beautiful alley-oop? Eric Pierce found Keanu Funa Saturday night for the flashy finish, which at the time put Lethbridge up 28-10 on the Trinity Western Spartans. Needless to say, the home crowd loved the play, as the 'Horns would go on to win 109-86 to complete the weekend sweep.

WVB: Upset sweep for UBC

We all know there's plenty of parity in Canada West women's volleyball, and anyone can win any given night, but what about back-to-back nights over the No. 1 team in the nation, who hasn't lost all season? Well, the UBC Thunderbirds provided a bit of a surprise this weekend, as they swept the top team in Canada West, the Trinity Western Spartans. TWU came into the weekend a perfect 16-0, but dropped both games to UBC, who now sits 13-7 on the season.

MBB: Down to the wire...again

It seems the Regina Cougars have been involved in a buzzer-beating play every night since the calendar turned to 2019. Saturday night was no different, as the Cougars found themselves on the wrong end of a 91-89 score to the Winnipeg Wesmen. Adam Benrabah's fingertip provided the winner with 0.1 left on the clock, as Winnipeg earned a split.
