BRANDON, Man. – The No. 1 Trinity Western Spartans played sparkling defence and ran a fluid offence to rout the Brandon Bobcats in straight sets 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-18) Saturday night.

After holding their own on Friday the Bobcats struggled to find any rhythm on Saturday, which allowed the Spartans to execute in all areas of the game.

Trinity hit .234 on the night to Brandon's .028 which included 25 kills to 22 errors on offence. The Spartans also out-dug the Bobcats 52-42 as a team to remain perfect on the season in conference play at 14-0.

With the loss Brandon's record falls to 3-11.

Fifth-year captain and Brandon product Alison Quiring subbed on late in the first set and made an impact in each of the remaining sets, helping her the Spartans keep their perfect record intact.

Quiring gave all cred right back to her teammates however, saying the close-knit group has earned this success together.

"We are the closest of friends and we are really good at talking through things and we're very open and honest with each other and that just really brings us together and really shows on the court," says Quiring.

"It felt like a nice closing on my career being my last time playing in Brandon, so yeah it felt really good," Quiring adds.

Micaylee Pucilowski paced the Spartans with 11 kills and seven digs while Hilary Howe put up 10 kills.

Fourth-year setter Brie King was outstanding for the second straight night, finishing just shy of a double-double with 29 assists and nine digs.

Mikaelyn Sych had a great game at the net putting up eight kills and five blocks while Avery Heppell wasn't far behind with seven kills and five blocks.

Brandon was led by fifth-year left side Nikala Majewski's double-double, which included a team-high 10 kills and 10 digs.

Trinity Western heads home to enjoy a bye next weekend while the Bobcats head back on the road to play the No. 4 University of Alberta Pandas.
