WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Wesmen have one more weekend to try and put an end to their losing streak.

The good news is they're getting a team that might just serve as a slump-buster.

Kory White again led the Alberta Pandas in kills, notching 16 Saturday night in a 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-18) victory over the Wesmen in a Canada West women's volleyball match at the Duckworth Centre.

The Wesmen have lost 19 Canada West matches in a row, a byproduct of having a team populated almost entirely by first- and second-year players.

The Wesmen will head to Edmonton next weekend for two matches against the MacEwan Griffins, who stand just two points above the Wesmen in the conference standings with a 2-20 record and immersed currently in a seven-match losing streak.

Kalena Schulz led the Wesmen (1-21) Saturday with eight kills and a match-high nine digs. Emma Parker added seven and eight, and setter Rylie Dickson had a team-high four blocks.

Alberta improved to 13-9 and kept its hopes of hosting a first-round series alive in the process. The Pandas came into Saturday two points back of fourth-place Trinity Western.

Alberta has now won four in a row and six of its last seven. The Pandas haven't dropped a set in four straight matches.

Shauntelle Hogg and Erin Corbett both added eight kills, while Hogg had a match-high five blocks.
