QUOTES:

TRU head coach Kelly Shantz:

"We were tired. We talked about it at half time. At this level you have to come out strong. Fitness is fitness. Sometimes you have to play two very physical experienced teams in a 24 hour period. We weren't prepared for that today. Our thinking was off.  I don't think our shape was off or our movement was off but we were slow. They are tired and not mentally into it (his players). At the USports level, you play two games every weekend and sometimes it's against two very good teams. This weekend it was against two very good teams. Hopefully we learn from this and day two prep has to be as good as day one.  It is a natural part of our growing curve. I understand that with our youth and kids getting their first experience with this. But that was the difference today."

UVIC head coach Tracy David:

"I was happy with our team responded after our performance yesterday (a 1-0 win in Kelowna, BC over UBCO). I think we were a bit disappointed about our performance yesterday. I thought we came out today and looked to play in the gaps and behind TRU as often as we could. I think today, we were composed on the ball".

On second half hat trick from Kiara Kilby: " She certainly turned up the heat and was able to finish her chances. She had a very good performance today but you know what, she had a whole supporting cast in an around her who was feeding her the ball. I think today was a very good team performance for us."
