EDMONTON - The University of Alberta Pandas' offence was ferocious on Sunday afternoon at Foote Field, firing an astonishing 29 shots on goal against the visiting Lethbridge Pronghorns, 19 of which found the target, but came away empty-handed in a 0-0 draw.

Micaela Stone turned in arguably the best match of her career, turning aside all 19 shots to earn her first clean sheet of the season. Pandas keeper Cassie Bazzarelli - while not as busy as Stone - stopped all six shots she faced to earn her second-straight shutout for Alberta.

Coming off a hard-fought 1-0 win the previous night, the Pandas offence came unleashed in Sunday's tilt, with the home side generating chance after chance from the opening minutes on. Sydney Daines paced the attack with five shots (four on target), while Karissa McNutt and Aly Parth each had four shots of their own.

The Pandas offence in the first half was made up mostly of well-executed crosses into the 'Horns box, however every cross was either blocked, turned over, or stopped by Stone.

Despite being outplayed, the Pronghorns generated a couple scoring opportunities of their own in the first, highlighted by a Kayla Blacquiere chance in the 22nd minute. However, her shot from five yards out couldn't beat Bazzarelli, who made an incredible arm save from the crease. 

The score remained tied deep into the second half, despite nine first half, and 10 second-half shots by Alberta. Fourth-year forward Karissa McNutt had one of the best chances for either team in the 58th minute, but her shot from in tight sailed harmlessly over the Lethbridge net.

Neither team was able to vanquish the scoreless match late in the fourth, resulting in the 0-0 scoreline.

The Pandas, now 1-0-1, will head on the road for the first time this season, as they visit the UNBC Timberwolves in Prince George before returning to Edmonton to take on the MacEwan Griffins. Lethbridge, meanwhile, will head home for matches against UFV and Trinity Western University.
