BRANDON – After a hard-fought win on Friday, the Victoria Vikes used a late run to beat the host Bobcats 84-80 on Saturday at the BU Healthy Living Centre.

Entering the final frame trailing by 10 points, Victoria made a surge early in the fourth, narrowing the gap to one point at 73-72 with just over three minutes left in regulation.

The two teams traded blows for the next two minutes before a steal by Ashlyn Day gave her an open break-away lay-up that proved to be the dagger, sealing the Vikes victory.

Brandon would later foul on the defensive end, sending the Vikes to the line and eventually their fourth straight win in conference play.

The win keeps Victoria's perfect record in conference play intact at 4-0.

Brandon remains winless at 0-4.

Leading the way for Victoria was Day with 26 points off the bench.  Marissa Dheensaw had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds while Amira Giannattasio chipped in 12 points.

Four Bobcats finished in double-digit scoring with Keisha Cox leading the way with 18 points. Amy Williams had 12 points while Hailey Maas had 11 and Mikaela Stanton finished with 10.

Victoria will return home before heading on the road again next weekend for a pair of games against Trinity Western in Langley. The Bobcats will enjoy a bye weekend before welcoming the Calgary Dinos for a pair of games on Nov. 17 & 18.
