BRANDON – Elliott Viles had another dynamite performance as the Bobcats downed the Calgary Dinos in straight sets for the second straight match.

The set scores were 25-16, 25-12 and 25-18.

The Australian superstar scored a match-high 13 kills on 18 attempts with zero errors for the Bobcats. His stat line was also blemish free on Friday afternoon when he recorded 16 kills on 20 attempts with no errors in BU's sweep of Calgary.

Reece Dixon delivered 29 assists while Seth Friesen had nine kills for the Bobcats, who improved to 5-2. All five of BU's conference victories have come in the friendly confines of the Healthy Living Centre.

Mason Metcalf added six kills and was involved in six blocks for Brandon.

The Bobcats started with a bang, scoring the first nine points of the match. BU maintained their nine-point cushion to close out the first set.

The second set had an even flow until the Bobcats caught a big surge of momentum at 14-11. BU finished off the set with a dazzling 12-1 run over the Dinos.

A 6-1 surge of Brandon offence to begin the third would help set the stage for the sweep. The Bobcats' lead was trimmed to 10-9, before a 7-1 run gave them a comfortable cushion down the stretch. BU saved the best for last with their hitting efficiency at .435 in the third.

Tim Taylor was Calgary's top scorer with 11 kills as the Dinos fell to 2-4.

Brandon is on the road for the next two weekends of Canada West play before heading into the holiday break. The Bobcats visit the UBC Okanagan Heat on November 23-24, and meet provincial rival the Manitoba Bisons on November 30 and December 1 in Winnipeg.

Meanwhile, the Dinos host the Herd this coming weekend, before hitting the road to play the Trinity Western Spartans to finish the first-half of their schedule.
