*Competition prior to the 1972-73 season was part of the Western Canadian Intercollegiate Athletic Union (WCIAU), later renamed the Western Canadian Athletic Association (WCIAA). The WCIAA split in the spring of 1972 into Canada West Universities Athletic Association (CWUAA) and the Great Plains Athletic Association (GPAA - later named the Great Plains Athletic Conference). The two conferences reunited in 2000.
