CALGARY – The good times keep rolling as the University of Calgary Dinos extended their win streak to six games, topping the Mount Royal University Cougars 3-2, Saturday night at the Father David Bauer Arena.

To go along with the six games, the win tonight marked the third straight sweep for the Dinos leaving them in second place in Canada West.

"We're really bearing down as a team," said Dinos goaltender Matthew Greenfield on the win.

"We're winning in different ways and it's great to see."

Unlike the night prior, it was the Cougars down a skater who managed to open the scoring.

Cougars forward Ryley Lindgren finished off a nice pass from Connor Rankin, elevating the puck over Greenfield on the doorstep, making it 1-0 halfway through the first.

The Dinos were quick to respond, taking advantage of another odd-man advantage.

Riley Sheen continued his torrid scoring pace, unleashing a bomb from the point, quickly tying the contest. Sheen one-timed the puck past Mount Royal netminder Riley Morris over the left shoulder, grabbing his seventh goal in 10 games.

3:34 into the second period, the Dinos jumped ahead.

Ryan Graham, who scored twice the night before, found the score sheet again, sniping a shot past Morris, giving the Dinos a 2-1 lead. Mitch Cook and Logan Fisher drew the assists on the play.

The lead only lasted three minutes as Josh Bly scored a second shorthanded goal for the Cougars.

In a solo effort, Bly found some open space before getting some help from opposition forward Chris Rauckman, who unintentionally knocked Greenfield out of position, leading to an open net tally.

Shortly after the 2-2 goal, Greenfield stymied the Cougars on a three-on-zero rush, robbing Tyson Helgesen blind with a cross-crease stop.

The score remained tied heading into the third period.

The chances were steady for both sides throughout the third, but it was the Dinos who found an opening on the power play, with less than six minutes to play.

Cain Franson only needed three seconds of power play time to give the Dinos the lead, as he beat Morris glove side from distance for his third of the season, making it 3-2 for the home side.

"That goal doesn't happen if Tim Vanstone doesn't win that faceoff," said Franson on the game winning goal.

"I called for it and [Shearer] gave me a good pass, and I was lucky enough that it went in."

The Cougars push for a tie was all for not, as the Dinos held on for the victory.

In the win, Greenfield made 18 saves good for his third win of the campaign.

Next weekend, the Dinos will travel to Regina, while the Cougars will host Saskatchewan in a two game set.
