CALGARY – The sweeps keep on coming for the University of Calgary Dinos as they knocked off the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns, 3-0, Saturday night at the Father David Bauer Arena, picking up their second sweep in consecutive weekends.

The Dinos throughout the first frame dominated the play, most notably in the offensive zone, but were repeatedly unable to best Pronghorns goaltender Garret Hughson, who made a total of 17 saves in the first 20.

The game was scoreless heading into the middle stanza.

Only 90 seconds were needed by the Dinos to nab the game's opening goal.

Shortly after an unsuccessful power play, forward Logan Fisher backhanded the puck towards the goal from below the goal line, and found a lucky bounce as the puck went off a stick and a skate before trickling past Hughson, making it 1-0.

Lethbridge managed a grade-A scoring chance in the final seconds of the period, as forward Connor Sanvido hit the crossbar on the doorstep of Dinos goaltender Matt Greenfield.

Through 40, the Dinos led by one, and led the shot count by a 32-9 margin.

Five minutes into the final period, Dinos forward Regan Nagy doubled his teams lead.

Robbie Fisher started the play with an outlet pass to linemate Josh Uhrich, who then set up Nagy alone in the slot, and he made no mistake going high glove past Hughson to make it 2-0.

That goal marked Nagy's second in as many games.

"It was a good dump by [Fisher], he took a hit to make a play," Nagy said.

"[Uhrich] got in there hard on the forecheck and he just got me the puck, and I had a nice shot at the net."

Lethbridge, desperately looking for some offensive, pulled Hughson with over five minutes to go.

Eventually, the Dinos were able to take advantage of the open cage, as forward Bradley Schoonbaert iced the game with 1:03 to go, capping off the win.

 "I thought our intensity in both games was really good," said head coach Mark Howell, as the 3-0 victory marks his squads fourth straight.

"We stayed with it, played well defensively. This weekend, we didn't give up much, and when we did, we had great goaltending."

Next week, the Dinos, Pronghorns and the rest of Canada West will have a weekend bye.
