KELOWNA, BC - It was another hot shooting display from the Lethbridge Pronghorns as they downed the Heat 121-73 on Saturday night in the UBC Okanagan gym.

The hometown Heat would trail by just eight at halftime 52-44, but an offensive explosion in the final 20 minutes led Lethbridge to score 69 points in the second half including 42 in the fourth quarter.

With the loss the Heat fall to 4-2 three weekends into conference play while the Pronghorns keep their perfect record intact at 4-0.

For the second consecutive night the visitors shot over 56% from the field and over 50% from behind the arc as they knocked down 18 triples on 35 attempts. 

Triston Matthews was cooking from the opening tip-off as he had 14 points in the opening 10 minutes and would finish the game with 28 points along with four rebounds, four assists and two steals. This ties for the shooting guards career-high as he had 28 against UNBC last season.

Individually for the visitors it was point-forward Zac Overwater who carried the load offensively as they 6'8" senior finished with 32 points on the night on 14-of-22 shooting from the field. Both Mike Pierzchala (25) and Kyle Peterson (21) would  finish with over 20 points as well on Saturday.

Both teams came out guns blazing in Kelowna as the two teams combined for 52 points in the first quarter as the two teams were firing shots up from all over the court. 

An eight point halftime lead for the Pronghorns would be taken into double-digits just a minute into the second half and the Heat were never able to find their footing as the visitors blew the came open in the second half. 

Head coach Ken Olynk has been quiet pleased with his teams performance three weekends in and commented on how his team needs to move on from the tough weekend. "We gotta be quiet pleased where we are at. We have to put this behind us and learn from it.

What's next:

The Heat (4-2) will now embark on a four game road trip as they face the Mount Royal Cougars (3-3) next weekend and follow that up against Ken Olynk's former school in the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack (2-2) the following weekend. The 'Horns (4-0) will continue their own road trip against the Alberta Golden Bears (3-3) next weekend in Edmonton.
