LANGLEY, B.C. – The No. 5 Calgary Dinos made it a weekend sweep of Trinity Western with a 110-67 victory over the Spartans Saturday night at the Langley Events Centre.  

Pogos Trunyan (Sacramento, Calf.) with 19 points, Max Viitala (Melbourne, Aus) with 18 points and five rebounds, and Tee Maberry (Pasadena, Calf.) with 13 points and four rebounds led the Spartans. While Calgary, who had six players in double digit scoring, was led by Mambi Diawara (Montreal) with 21 points and eight rebounds, and Andrew Milner (Antigonish, N.S.) with 16 points.

Calgary had a better night from the field shooting 53.6 percent (45-84) to TWU's 34.8 percent (24-69).  

The Dinos jumped out to a 27-17 lead after the opening quarter and never looked back.  

Calgary led 54-38 at the half, and were up 80-58 after three frames. 

The loss drops TWU to 1-13, while the win moves Calgary to 11-3.

NEXT UP

The Spartans now head to Saskatchewan next weekend to play the University of Saskatchewan Huskies on January 19 and 20. While the Dinos will head home to host the UBC Okanagan Heat.
