WINNIPEG –The University of Manitoba Bisons cruise to a 94-84 win over the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns in men's basketball at Investors Group Athletic Centre on Friday (Jan. 5).

"Every single game is big," said Bisons Head Coach Kirby Schepp. "Getting a win versus a quality team like Lethbridge is nice, for sure."

The Bisons started the second half of the season strong with an all-around sturdy showing. They maintained a healthy lead throughout the game, and had a shooting efficiency above 50 per cent for all four quarters.

They set a team season-high for most points scored in a game. Their previous high of 87 was set against Regina back in November.

The momentum kicked into high gear late in the third when the hosts put away a pair of dunks, electrifying the atmosphere.

The Bisons are now riding a four-game win streak with an improved 9-4 record, while the Pronghorns fall to 10-3.

Fifth-year guard Justus Alleyn led the charge for the Herd. He put up a total 23 points, nine of which were from the outside.

A series of cheeky no-look assists from Bisons guard Rashawn Browne also added to the effort, with Browne contributing 19 points of his own.

The Pronghorns' effort was spearheaded by forward Saren Westrop, posting 17 points. His teammate Kyle Peterson was solid on both ends of the court as he recorded six steals and added 13 points.

The same teams play again on Saturday (Jan. 6) at 7:00 p.m. CT.
