WINNIPEG —  An overtime nothing-but-net three-point basket by Tyvon Cooper cemented a Brandon win with less than two seconds left on the clock on Friday, Nov. 24 night at Investors Group Athletic Centre. In a nail-biting game, Manitoba falls to Brandon 88-85.

Overtime had huge plays on both sides and included a crucial three-point field goal from Bisons Justus Alleyn that tied the game with 40 seconds left in OT. Bobcat Tyvon Cooper was quick to answer but Bisons Wagner got a two-pointer to keep it a tie at 85-85.

"I mean, it was disappointing. We've had a few of these [very disappointing] ones and ultimately their guys made big plays late in both regulation and overtime and our guys didn't," said Bisons head coach Kirby Schepp. "That's pretty much what it came down to. Pretty even game, pretty much the whole way through."

With the OT loss, Bisons fall to a 5-4 record, while Bobcats sit at 4-3.

In overtime, Manitoba was on fire with a 52.9% scoring average, over Brandon's 41.2%.

The fourth quarter was packed with equally big plays—Bisons Rashawn Browne netting a three-pointer at the buzzer to force the game to overtime.

The first three quarters made for a close game throughout, with Manitoba trailing Brandon by one or two points for most of the game. The Herd came in just under Brandon's 38.5% scoring average at 35.9% at halftime.

Bobcat Tyvon Cooper led Brandon with 26 points and Justus Alleyn scores 25 to take top scorer for Manitoba.

Both teams meet again tomorrow—Saturday, Nov. 25—at Manitoba starting at 7 p.m. CT.
