KAMLOOPS, BC---The MacEwan University Griffins scored 47 points in the second half: a lot from outside the 'arc' as they spilt their weekend series with the hometown Thompson University WolfPack in Canada West men's basketball action.  On Saturday (Oct 28), the Griffins came away with a 13 point victory-86-73.

The 'Pack were up 42-39 at the half.

 SYNOPSIS

The game was close for the most part until the Griffins opened a 10 point lead in the dying minutes.  MacEwan had five players in double figures led by Deonte Doslov-Doctor with 19 points.  Adonis Monfort-Palomino chipped in with 15 points.

The WolfPack had four players in double figures. Luke Morris-the "TRU Bookstore/McDonalds Leader of the Pack" player of the game had 18 points and eight boards. Mike Rouault had a double double with 11 rebounds (10 defensively) and 10 points.  He added three assists and a block

On changes made from Friday to Saturday: "I think it was our general effort and energy to do small things. We really emphasized wanting to win the rebounding battle. We had so many extra efforts to put us in a position to do that. We held them to three offensive rebounds after giving up 17 the night before.

On their improved three point shooting (15-37):"It was one of our keys too. We had to catch the ball ready to shoot every single time. We recognize that people are going to challenge us to see if we could make shots. The first way to challenge them is be ready to shoot."

The  WolfPack will head to Kelowna next Saturday and Sunday (Nov 4-5) for afternoon tilts against the UBCO Heat.

The Griffins will have their home opener as they entertain the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns on Friday and Saturday (Nov 3-4).
