Hardy Cup Playoffs to be televised on Canada West Football Showcase

Highlights:

The Canada West Football Showcase is headed to the playoffs, as the road to the Hardy Cup will be televised on SaskTel (Saskatchewan), TELUS (Alberta and B.C.), and BellMTS (Manitoba)
Semifinal action is slated for Saturday, Nov. 4, with Calgary hosting Alberta (1 p.m. MDT) and Regina travelling to take on UBC (3 p.m. PDT)

EDMONTON – Only two weeks remain in the race for the 81^st Hardy Cup, and football fans will be able to watch all the action on the road to the conference championship game by tuning into the Canada West Football Showcase.

After televising a total of 12 Canada West games across the full distribution network during the regular season, both the Hardy Cup semifinals (Saturday, Nov. 4), as well as the 81^st Hardy Cup (Saturday, Nov. 11), will be televised on SaskTel (Saskatchewan), TELUS (Alberta and B.C.), and BellMTS (Manitoba).

The first semifinal is set for 1 p.m. MDT on Nov. 4 in Calgary, as the Calgary Dinos (7-1) host the Alberta Golden Bears (3-5) at McMahon Stadium. The second semifinal takes the field later that day in Vancouver when the UBC Thunderbirds (6-2) welcome the Regina Rams (4-4) to Thunderbird Stadium for a 3 p.m. PDT kickoff.

Dustin Nielson, Doug McLean, and Darren Dupont have the call of the Bears and Dinos in Calgary, while Dan Plaster, Justin Dunk, and Andy Neal are on the mic for the Rams and Thunderbirds contest.

By the time a Canada West champion has been crowned, a total of 15 Canada West Football Showcase games will have been televised this season, as the conference and its broadcast partners have showcased the outstanding performances of Canada West student-athletes on and off the field.
