Huskies football squad hits the field Thursday in 2013 Spring Camp
SASKATOON - Ready to hit the turf of Griffiths Stadium in PotashCorp Park for spring camp, the University of Saskatchewan Huskie football team will get its first chance to test skills for the 2013 season.

Spring camp kicks off early Thursday morning with the 13th annual Dogs Breakfast at Prairieland Park and wraps up Sunday with the Green and White scrimmage. The Dogs Breakfast helps raise scholarship funds for the team. NFL legendary tailback Reuben Mayes will be the guest speaker. At the event, Huskie head coach Brian Towriss will make an official announcement of new recruits to the team.

The players will then hit the field that night at 6 p.m. in the first practice of the weekend. They suit up again Friday at 5:30 p.m., 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Saturday and finally 10:30 a.m. Sunday. All fans, supporters, alumni, family and friends are invited to attend any of the practices during the camp. The camp will feature around 101 returning Huskies, new recruits and walk-on players.

Camp will also include CFL excitement with the CFL Entry Draft on Monday, May 6. Defensive linemen Joel Seutter, Levi Steinhauer and Zach Hart, as well as receivers Mitch Friesen and Charlie Power are among eligible draftees.
