Trio of Canada West receivers go No. 3-4-5 in CFL's Canadian Draft

EDMONTON - At the Canadian Football League's 2011 Canadian Draft Anthony Parker, wide receiver, of the Calgary Dinos was taken third overall by his hometown Calgary Stampeders, while Saskatchewan All-Canadian receiver Jade Etienne went to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers with the fourth pick and another Dinos receiver, Nathan Coehoorn, who has 132 career Canada West receptions for 1,961 yards, was selected by the Edmonton Eskimos.

Highly touted punter / kicker Hugh O'Neill of the Alberta Golden Bears (#11 selection), tied for 10th in league history with 235 points, and Calgary third-year offensive lineman Paul Swiston (#24) are other top-rated Canada West players chosen on the day. Calgary's All-Star centre Alexander Krausnick-Groh (#27) is now a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, while teammate and fellow OL Reed Alexander was taken at #31 by the Montreal Alouettes. Yet another Dino, running back Matt Walter, was the 34th pick and joins Parker as a member of the Stampeders.

Canada West players accounted for four of the first five CIS players drafted, while six of the first 34 choices were from the three-time defending Canada West champion Calgary Dinos. The draft continues throughout the day and the initial two rounds were seen live across Canada on TSN.
